Thank you for this article. I receive a delivery of organic local produce and received some of the curly garlic scapes and had no idea what they were until I saw this post. Now I am excited to find a great recepie (maybe in that book giveaway you are having) that I can use them in.

Sarah, pea shoot/garlic scape pesto sounds fabulous. My family loved it mixed with mayo as a sauce.
Gretchen, Don’t you love how versatile it is? Sounds yummy in risotto.

Great recipe (I used Sarah’s suggestion and included pea shoots, too). I added the pesto to mushroom-asparagus risotto. Really delicious!

Garlic scape pesto has become one of our favorite spring recipes too! This year we had an abundance of pea shoots from our farm share and tried blending it (and a little lemon juice) in when making the pesto – my family really liked it.

I love scapes and have been tossing them into everything, especially all the greens this time of year. Funny about the pesto! I guess it is one of those things meant to be.

This looks so delicious even though Chris and I are off of wheat right now I think we could make this into a nice salad/pasta for the kids dinner.
